The Rid-All Green Partnership has been using hydroponics and aquaponics best practices to farm-raised tilapia fish since its first year of operation in 2011.  In addition, Rid-All has been training adults in aquaponics since 2012, with over 500 adults completing training since that time.  In one greenhouse on the Rid-All campus over a 7-year period, over 8,500 tilapia fish were successfully farm-raised – which led Rid-All and outside investors to establish the Urban Fish Farm, LLC , which is a spin-off for-profit fish and seafood enterprise.  This venture will dramatically ramp up the output of tilapia fish to over 100,000 annually and will be expanded to include bluegill and shrimp.  Local restaurants and grocers will be the primary customers for large volumes of seafood, although some tilapia will be sold on a regular basis at the Rid-All restaurant building on-site.  The Urban Fish Farm, LLC, is one of 3 organizations in North America to be registered with the Global AquaCulture Alliance (GAA), a leading authority on best practices for farm-raising and harvesting fish and other seafood.
